Abstract:The colocated multiple input multiple output(MIMO) radar system can flexibly change the shape of the transmit beampattern and the characteristics of spatial synthetic signals in the pointing direction based on the waveform diversity, thereby enabling multiple radar operating modes. This paper proposed a multi-mode integrated waveform design method for colocated MIMO radar, which used pattern template matching and ambiguity function template matching to optimize the spatial synthetic signals in different directions, so as to have different characteristics, thus realizing search, tracking, and communication functions in one pulse time. For the constructed constant modulus quartic polynomial optimization problem, this article uses the maximum block improvement(MBI) algorithm to solve it. Experiments show that the method can obtain search-and-track waveforms with low sidelobe ambiguity functions and meet the communication requirements.
